Ingushes won’t give up

Nazran/Agency Caucasus – The Ingush people will not easily give up even though they were violently diverted by use of force from their rally in the city of

Nazran on Saturday against the President Murat Zyazikov of Ingushetia.

The Ingush people will gather once again on February 23 for another public rally.  The public anger with the administration is even stronger this time after the public rally on Saturday was squelched by force. Magomed Malsagov, who is the lead figure of Mashr, a non-governmental organization, said that the administration’s decision to let the security forces use force to curb the public rally is a sign of disrespect for the people. Mutsolgov was also angry with the administration’s stubborn decision to disallow the Saturday public rally in spite of all legal applications it officially received from the Ingush people. KU/AP/ÖZ/FT
