This time, EU officials have talks with Ossetian administration

Tbilisi/Agency Caucasus – The European Union (EU) has been paying attention greater than before to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, two breakaway republics of , since declared its support for these two countries in retaliation for Kosovo’s declaration of unilateral independence under western tutelage from.

After Abkhazia has recently hosted many western diplomats, it is nowSouth Ossetia that has become the centre of western focus. The EU ambassadors in are today (June 23) in Tshinval, capital ofSouth Ossetia , to have talks with members of the Ossetian administration, which has sped up its efforts to earn recognition.    

The goal of these talks is to enable the EU to contribute more to the economic development of South Ossetia, according to a statement released from the French embassy inTbilisi . The talks will centre on the EU projects designed to helpSouth Ossetia .
