Kazakhs get financial support from Karachai-Cherkessia

Cherkessk/Agency Caucasus – The Republic of Karachai-Cherkessia will spend as much as 4.78 rubles in the next two years to help promote the culture, tradition and customs of the Kuban Kazakhs. 

According to a budget proposal adopted in the Karachai-Cherkessi parliament, the administration will organize cultural, religious, military ceremonies and sports games for Kazakhs to attend. Officials said that future organizations of ceremonies and games would reinforce the spiritual side of Kazakhs, gain them a sense of aim and make them culturally stronger. 

The 2002 statistics say that there are 2051 Kazakhs living in Karachai-Cherkessia. Most Kazakhs chose Zelenchuk and Urup as places to live in. The Kazakh Affairs Office, a sub-organization of Karachai-Cherkessia Presidency, deals with problems facing Kazakhs. It has Pavel Zaporojtse as its head manager. KU/ÖZ/FT
