Kabardino-Balkaria has new Civil Council of Consultation

Nalchik/Agency Caucasus – The Civil Council of Consultation, a presidential body active since 2006 in Kabardino-Balkaria with the aim of advising the administration on social and political issues, has been modified to have a new group of 15 members as well as to have a new perspective. 

The 15 new members contain the following names: Yulya Parkhomenko, who is chairing in Kabardino-Balkaria the office of Delovaya Rossiya, a Russian civil organization; Barasbi Karamurzov, President of the Kabardino-Balkaria State University, Anatoli Rahayev, President of the North Caucasian Institute of Researches; Prof. Murat Hakonov, a member of the academic staff at the Kabardino-Balkaria State University; Oksana Gyaurgiyeva, a professor of medicine; Anzor Shahmurzov, who is chairing in Kabardino-Balkaria the office of the Right Powers Party; and Azamat Luyev and Aslan Mirzoyev as representatives of the young generation.

Hajismel Thagapsoyev, Chair of the Council, said that not only social and economic issues but also political relations between nations and relations between different religions would be discussed. "Our basic aim is to help develop all democratic non-governmental institutions in Kabardino-Balkaria."  

The first ordinary meeting will be devoted to the forming of the working groups. The former Council had nine working commissions. It was set up in 2006 by an order from the President Arsen Kanokov. KU/ÖZ/FT
