London/Agency Caucasus – Bardi Patarkatsishvili, 52, a Georgian billionaire, was reported to have died of "a heart attack" after he was found dead the day before in his home in London, capital of Britain.
Patarkatsishvili, a leading figure of the Georgian opposition, ran against Mikheil Saakashvili in the last elections; however, he only won seven percent of the votes and failed. He was living in London since November. Although the death of Patarkatsishvili brought up question marks over the cause of his death, the British police stated in its autopsy report that Patarkatsishvili died of natural causes.
Patarkatsishvili claimed in his December statement that the Georgian administration was up to assassinate him. Patarkatsishvili was accused of overthrowing the government of Georgia. He was also claimed to be the person behind the huge November protests against the government.
Patarkatsishvili was the business partner of Boris Berezovski, a famous Russian businessman of Jewish origin. HT
