Head of Charodinsky District in Dagestan assassinated

Makhachkala/Agency Caucasus – Murtuz Kuramagomedov, the 51-year-old Administrative Head of the Charodinsky District, Dagestan, was shot to death by unidentified gunmen in the Gunib District on Wednesday evening.

The assassination took place while Kuramagomedov was driving in his own personal car from Khvartikuni to Kuppa, the Interior Ministry officials told reporters. 

The assassins were driving in a VAZ-type car. They blocked the way, got out of their car, and fired at Kuramagomedov’s car, which is a Volga.  

Kuramagomedov and his driver had already been dead when the ambulance arrived in the scene of assassination.  

The latest deadly attack that Dagestan has seen occurred in the city of Hasavyurt on November 8. It left dead Lt. Col. Aynutdin Gelihanov, who was an officer working in the Dagestan Department of Russian Interior Ministry for the fight against organized crime.   

On October 31, Hulad Alibekov, General Director of Gerginski, a large company set up in the Kayakent District, was killed. On October 26, Gasan Kerimov, the Chief Police Officer of the Sovyetski District, was killed in Makhachkala. Zakir Faridov, 32, a businessman, was killed in Makhachkala on October 4. And Nabi Gajimagomedov, General Director of Dagkavelektromontage, was killed on October 2.  KU/ÖZ/FT
