Nazran – The FSB, or the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, the main domestic security as well intelligence service of Russia, are now in a position to impose strict rules to maintain social cohesion before a public rally gets staged against President Murat Zyazikov of Ingushetia, a country that has been hosting a lot of activities by Russia’s federal forces since summer.
The FSB announced it would crack down hard on probable terrorist attacks in the country. The Russian organization of security service said in its statement that the terrorists had plans to attack governmental buildings and strike at Ingush security forces. For this reason, the FSB announced Ingushetia as an area where to conduct anti-terrorist military operations. It was 10 am on Friday when the FSB forces set limitations to free circulation of both people and vehicles in regions like Magas and Nazran. The Ingushes are also being asked to identify themselves to the police.
The rally would certainly be staged
There are plans to hold a huge rally on Saturday in Ingushetia in support of dismissal of Zyazikov from presidency. Magomed Yevloyev, who is one of the leading figures to get the rally staged, said that the rally would definitely be staged despite the FSB measures. Yevloyev also said that any possible instance of violence against the ralliers would result in clashes.
The police set fire into the air and bludgeoned the ralliers in November when some security forces kidnapped a group of journalists and a human rights organization representative from a hotel room where they stayed. Former President of Ingushetia, Ruslan Aushev, expressed his surprise at the FSB’s announcement of Ingushetia as a region of anti-terrorism. (Agency
