Sukhum/Agency Caucasus – The Armed Forces of Abkhazia will be on maneuvers soon.
The Armed Forces would perform a series of pre-planned large-scale exercises on April 21-23, said Abkhazia’s Deputy Minister of Defense Garri Kupalba. A group of 2500 troops will be expected to show skilled action in mobilizing firing units as well as in fighting off naval units. Both units of standing army and spare units will be on maneuvers. Last time the Abkhazian Armed Forces were on maneuvers, a number of 4000 troops joined the drills from March 24 to March 28. Founded on October 11, 1992, the Armed Forces of Abkhazia, are on maneuvers twice or thrice every year. KU/ÖZ/FT
