Russian armoured military vehicle blast in Gal

Gal/Agency Caucasus – The Gal region that stands along the border between Abkhazia and Georgia and where the Mingrelians live witnessed on Sunday the blast of a Russian BTR-type armoured military vehicle, an event that left several soldiers wounded.  

On October 6, a column of Russian peacekeeping soldiers came under attack while they were on a road near the Ingur River. On September 25, a vehicle loaded with bombs was detonated while it was stationed near Abkhazia’s State Security Service building. On September 14, a digger that belonged to the Russian peacekeeping forces hit a mine. On August 17, two Abkhazian border guards were injured when a remote-controlled bomb was detonated in Gal.
