Moscow/Agency Caucasus – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin awarded President Murat Zyazikov of Ingushetiya, among many others, with a token for his service to the nation.
Although Ingushetiya is a country with its proneness to disturbances often caused by its constant exposition to surveillance by the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, formerly known as the KGB, and by the Russian Interior Ministry, Zyazikov managed to receive his award as a significance of his proven affiliation with the policies of Moscow, the administrative capital of Russia.
While Putin presented Zyazikov his award in the Kremlin on Tuesday, the Nazran city of Ingushetiya was stricken with blasts and the Malgobek city with skirmishes.
Zyazikov and Putin were colleagues while they were both working for the KGB.
Apart from politicians, sportsmen, soldiers and cultural as well as health workers received their awards from Putin only one week before he is scheduled to say farewell to the Kremlin. ÖZ/FT
