Psychotherapeutic center now at service for Chechen children

Caharkala/Agency Caucasus – A new, modern psychotherapeutic center was launched in the capital city of Caharkala,

, to help with the mental treatment of Chechen children suffering from the traumas of the Russian invasion of their country.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, or UNESCO, and the Russian-guided Chechen administration have worked together to get the Psychotherapeutic and Medico-Social Center ready for public service.

The ceremonial initiation of the center hosted UNESCO’s chief officer in Moscow Dendev Baracha, the chief officer Ute Enderlyayn in North Caucasus of World Health Organization, or WHO, the Chechen Minister of Education Anzor Muzayev, the Chechen Minister of Work and Social Affairs Magomed Ahmadov, and the Mayor Muslim Huchiyev of Caharkala City.

Among the ceremonial activities were a fold dance show, accompanied by the state Philharmonic orchestra.

Muzayev attached great importance to the center while he addressed the audience: "Given that the series of tragic events since 1994 have had the most negative impact on the children, it is important that we have an important center of health today. It is also significant that we have this center just before the day of saving world’s children."
