Nalchik/Agency Caucasus – Public prosecutors of Kabardino-Balkaria expressed ‘hope’ that the near future killing of Islamic resisters with a hideout up in the mountains can bring an end to the likes of murderous acts in which nine hunters were killed in November.
Veliri Ustov, Chief Public Prosecutor, hinted at the likelihood of as many as 50 resisters with a hideout up in the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria killing the hunters, and expressed hope that they would all be killed soon: "Why would a group of 50 be allowed to turn life into a nightmare for millions in Kabardino-Balkaria?" Ustov accused some among the public people of supporting the resisters.
Ustov’s own explanation for the killing of hunters was as follows: Either the hunters ran into resisters in the mountain or the hunters discovered a secret hideout of the resisters, and the resisters killed the hunters because they thought the hunters were security officers. Ustov believes that the murderers are still in Kabardino-Balkaria.
The corpses of the hunters were found in a forest five kilometers from the Lechinkai village of Chegem province on November 4.
Security officials of Kabardino-Balkaria said in a statement that four suspects were being chased after after they were identified. KU/RE/ÖZ/FT
