London/Agency Caucasus – Because the Chechen children who were born in several parts of the world after their parents had to leave their home country due to war have never seen Chechnya, an Internet web site was launched to make these Chechen children feel like they were in Chechnya.
www.borzik.moy.su, which carries the caption ‘Pisulig,’ is aimed at helping the Chechen children growing up in Europe, America and Canada to know about their culture and home country. The site contains Chechen tales, tales for kids, proverbs and idioms, pictures of children and pictures drawn by children.
There are plans to put stories and songs for children in Chechen on this web site in the future. ÖZ/FT
