Dzokhar-Khala/Agency Caucasus – The Municipality of Moscow, the administrative capital city of the Russian Federation, has donated as many books as 17 000 to the municipality of Dzokhar-Khala, the capital city of Chechnya, Chechen officials said.
The donation of books from Moscow to Dzokhar-Khala was done as part of a deal to cooperate.
The books ranged in subject from economics to medicine to history and arts.
Dagman Bersanov, who chairs the Cultural Department of the Dzokhar-Khala Municipality, expressed his hopes that Moscow’s donation of thousands of books would surely help libraries in Dzokhar-Khala to get better. "There are up to 30 libraries in Dzokhar-Khala that house a total of 100 000 books," Bersanov said and added that the donated books would be allocated to libraries #6, #9 and #29 in Dzokhar-Khala.
