Kokoiti: Caucasian volunteers would be pleased to help us

Tshinkval/Agency Caucasus – Administrations of North Caucasus proposed to send volunteers to help South Ossetia in a possible war it would fight against Georgia, said Eduard Kokoiti, President of South Ossetia, who gave order for Osset children to be sent to North Ossetia after Georgia launched several attacks onSouth Ossetia .

Kokoiti met with a group of North Ossetians after it has recently suffered from an increase in the tension between itself and . “South Ossetia has, above all, a firm confidence in its own power, but we received lots of telephone calls from both North Ossetia and other North Caucasian republics that proposed to send volunteers toSouth Ossetia .”

South Ossetia would like to try everything possible to avoid the war, said the president of South Ossetia: “Although there is a common willingness to help theRepublic ofSouth Ossetia , there should not be natural formations. We would like to get through these hard times without causing natural formations to be set up inSouth Ossetia . We know what a war is like and how it can affect those who are not prepared for it.”

Kokoiti further expressed his willingness to negotiate with Georgia in spite of what has recently happened: “What matters is to keep peace alive, despite all those military strikes that we suffered from. The Georgian administration should hear the voice of its people and avoid provocation at any rate,” the president said.
 
According to Kokoiti, the top priority went to maintaining the security of the South Ossetian people and to realizing the plans to reach the established social and economic goals.
