Cherkessk/Agency Caucasus – After Boris Ebzeyev was sworn in as President of Karachay-Cherkessia, a federal subject of Russia, he appointed Vladimir Kayshev as Prime Minister.
Kayshev’s candidacy for the office of prime minister was approved in the Parliament of Karachay-Cherkessia. Ebzeyev hailed Kayshev as the person who would most suitably handle, but definitely not prolong, the problems that face his country. Kayshev was formerly one of the general directors in the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. There is a public concern about the extent to which he will be able to handle the national problems because he has not stayed in Karachay-Cherkessia for long. Zurab Mirzayev, who is a resident in Cherkessia, is one of those who are displeased with Kayshev’s appointment to the office of prime minister: "I was surprised to hear the news on TV. I did not hear anything about him before, especially about his collection of works in Karachay-Cherkessia. And now I am worried if he could do his job satisfactorily, because he knows very little about the problems that face his country. Well, in fact, it does not make a difference who nominated and who appointed him. Ebzeyev is, at least, one of us; he grew up in here; however, we have got the feeling that things might not work out well because we don’t know almost anything about him."
Meanwhile, Andrey Davidov was appointed as Chief Judge of the Supreme Court after he presided over the district court of Matveyev-Kurganski in Rostov province. KU/ÖZ/FT
