Istanbul/Agency Caucasus – The President Arsen Kanokov of Kabardino-Balkaria, along with a huge entourage, will be in Turkey as a quest of the Mayor Mehmet Özhaseki of Kayseri, a central Anatolian city.
The official website of the Federation for Caucasian Associations posted online news of Kanokov’s upcoming visit to Turkey between February 18 and 20. He will be accompanied by 24 businessmen and 17 Hatti dancers.
His entourage of officials includes the Industrial Minister Uyanayev Kazım, the Permanent Representative of Kabardino-Balkaria in the Russian Federation Jamborov Vlademir, the Mayor Hamgokov Leonid of Nalchik, the President Mambetov Mikheil of Chegem, and the Executive Assistant Kazdohov Rustam of the President, deputies, officials of the Ministries of Building and Industry, and the President Dzamiha Kasbolat of the World Circassians’ Association.
On February 18, the first day of his Kayseri tour, Kanokov will see several historic mosques, medical centers and museums. His first day in Kayseri will finish with a live music performance in the Kayseri House. On February 19, Kanokov will see both the city governor and the mayor in their offices. He will then take part in the planting of trees to inaugurate the Nalchik Boulevard. On the same day, Kanokov will pay a visit to the Commercial Chamber of Kayseri and will attend a dinner that the Caucasus Association will hold in his honour. On February 20, Kanokov will have a breakfast in the Argeus and then visit he Organized Industrial Zone.
The official relations between Kabardino-Balkaria and Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality have improved since 1990 when Nalchik and Kayseri were made sister cities. Kayseri Mayor Özhaseki made several visits to Nalchik, too. FT
