Gaysarov becomes new Ingush Prime Minister

Magas/Agency Caucasus – Ingush President Yunusbek Yevkurov nominated as the Prime Minister of his country the former Minister of Finance, Rashid Gaysanov, 36, whose nomination was approved of in the Ingush parliament on Thursday.

Before the voters cast their votes, Yevkurov said of his premier nominee that he was singled out as the most outstanding candidate: "I know that he is not only experienced and knowledgeable about his country, but he is also an honest man of his word."

Gaysanov’s first words that followed his parliamentary approval expressed his intention to work hard in order to take his country off the list of republics in debt. "Ingushetiya suffers from a high rate of unemployment in the first place. It must be reduced as fast as possible. For this to happen, the Ingush government will promote entrepreneurship on a small scale," Gaysanov said.

The new Prime Minister said that his government would certainly improve what has come to be known as the federal programme of social and economic development since it was first drafted by the preceding government. However, he stressed, not everything would be expected to come from the central government.

Gaysanov graduated in 1993 from the Rostov Faculty of Economics. He worked in the Ingush office of Sberbank as well as in the Commercial Bank of Erzi. He served as the Minister of Finance from 1999 to 2005. During the next one academic year, he served as the Vice-Chancellor at the State University of Ingushetiya. He worked as Russia’s presidential plenipotentiary representative in the Southern Federal District since 2006. He was the Deputy Manager in the Department for Investment Programme and Investment Projects.
