Strasbourg/Agency Caucasus – European Parliament condemned Russian Federation for it’s negligence in inquiries of murdered journalists and human rights defenders.
European Parliament made a harsh decision of condemnation about Russia’s human rights violations. In the resolution text, where human rights violations in North Caucasus also emphasized, names of murdered journalists and human rights defenders including Natalia Estemirova, Zarema Sadullayeva, Alik Cabrailov, Maksharip Aushev, Anastasia Baburova and Anna Politkovskaya are stated.
European Parliamentarians expressing their concerns about Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s and Platon Lebedev’s convictions and detention of opponents including Boris Nemtsov, call Russian administration to comply with human rights and to respect superiority of law in North Caucasus. European Parliament once more called Russia to find and punish the perpetrators of human rights defenders and journalists’ murders.KU/OZ/CY
