Until recently, skiers had to wait for hours in lines if they wanted to move up the hills of Musa-Achitara. With the instalment of this new system of cable car, this problem has been eliminated, officials said.
Before the new system was introduced, the skiing season began in December and ended in May. But from now on it will begin in October and end in August.
The new cable car has made it possible to develop additional ways for promoting skiing, said Mustafa Batdiyev, President of Karachay-Cherkessia, and added that a total of 15-kilometre cable railway would be available after additional projects were completed in the next three years.
This means that as many as 10,000 skiers will be able to enjoy skiing on the hills of Musa-Achitara in Dombai. KU/ÖZ/FT
