Magas/Agency Caucasus – Vaha Yevloyev, former member of the parliament, came under attack.
Yevloyev is the cousin of former President Ruslan Aushev, whom the opposition have been campaigning for because they want him to come to power again in Ingushetiya. Ingushetiya has been going through a tough period with a lot of challenges to face.
The attack on Yevloyev can be a result of the opposition campaign for Aushev, the Russian daily Kommersant wrote. However, Magomed Yevloyev, owner of the Ingushetiya.ru, a web site that played the role of a spokesperson for the opposition until a court ruling was issued to close it down, rejected the Kommersant view. The attack has nothing to do with the opposition campaign, according to Yevloyev, because Vaha Yevloyev is a person loyal to Murat Zyazikov, President of Ingushetiya. "The reasons behind the attack on Vaha Yevloyev should be sought in disagreements among members of the current administration in Ingushetiya," said Yevloyev.
