Adygea seeks ways to handle religious radicalism and terrorism

Maikop/Agency Caucasus – Senior members of the administration of Adygea had an official meeting on November 27 about how to deal with the threats of religious radicalism and of terrorism arising out of immigration.

President Aslan Thakushinov chaired the meeting of Adygeia’s Commission on Antiterrorism.

The major topic of discussion was related to whether immigration has negatively affected the balance of national security. A proposal to set up a special, permanent commission to deal with problems that have to do with the effects of immigration was accepted.

Also, additional discussion was focused on the effects of political and religious radicalism on the whole of the Republic of Adygea.

Speaker of the Adygei Parliament Anatoli Ivanov, Chief Inspector Adam Tleuj of Adygea, Prime Minister Murat Kumpilov, and Secretary-General Aleksandr Pishenko of Adygea’s President attended the meeting.

A report came from Adygei official Igor Dorodonov, who works for the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Adygei Minister of Health Muhammed Borsov. It was meant to suggest ideas about how to plan the most harmonious way of eliminating the causes for acts of terrorism that are likely to happen.

Thakushinov has demanded that all the officials should act in line with what Adygea’s Commission on Antiterrorism thinks is right to do.
