FSB border guards come under attack by Chechen resisters

Caharkala/Agency Caucasus – The Chechen resisters launched on Monday an attack in the border town of Chiska, Chechnya

, on a car that carried border guards of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB).

Three guards were killed and five injured in the Chechen attack. The car was immediately in flames, eye witnesses said.

Right after the incident took place here, the neighbouring FSB border troops, the Noviye Atagi troops and two Mi-24-type helicopters were sent in to the scene. Additional Russian forces were immediately ordered to remain highly cautious about further attacks and to hunt down the Chechen resisters, Russian intelligence sources said. However, whether anyone could be hunted down or not remained unrevealed.

Over the past one week, the Chechen resisters have fought the security forces of the puppet Chechen administration several times. First, a group of 60 to 100 Chechen resisters, led by Usman Muntsigov, set fire on June 13 to the administrative building in Benoy-Vedeno, a village where the majority of residents support the Russian administration. The Chechen resisters fought the police as well. Also, on Sunday, fighting broke out in the Agishbatoy village of Vedeno province between the Chechen resisters and supporters of the President Ramzan Kadyrov of Chechnya. ÖZ/FT
