Left-out explosives add to Chechen suffering

– Explosives left out here and there in the wake of war are adding to the Chechen suffering.

A child of age 11 died in a blast of shell that had been left out in a dustbin in southeastern . The police said it was a shell that exploded near Kurchaloy after a boy student set the dustbin there to fire. It remains, however, unknown who left the shell in the dustbin.

Two children, aged 10 and 14, were seriously injured on November 14 in a blast of antitank explosives in Achhoy-Martan. Local authorities said such recent explosions left injured a total of 3800 people, of which 754 were children.  KU/ÖZ/FT
