Karachai-Cherkessia calls on to vote for Putin

Cherkessk/Agency Caucasus – A statement of praise for President Vladimir Putin of was issued from the Parliament of Karachai-Cherkessia, which boldly called on the public to vote for Putin in the December 2 Duma elections.

The statement came amid the Kremlin-backed demonstrations in support of efforts to proclaim Putin as a national leader.  

The parliament statement read as follows:

"The important thing has now become the human rights, not ideals or goals. Priority went to democratic freedoms and civil interests; civil society was significantly helped to improve itself; firm steps were taken towards peace, national harmony and spiritual revival of the nation. The past seven years saw considerably significant developments in terms of socio-economics, politics and culture. Production grew steadily. National projects were realized. Effective measures were taken to contain the demographic situation. The people of Karachai-Cherkessia links all these developments to performance by Putin. The people of Karachai-Cherkessi trust him and fully support his foreign policies."

It was only from the Communist part that words of disconnection from the parliament statement came. The communists stressed that it was a breach of the laws on the part of public institutions to involve in this way in the process of upcoming elections.

The parliament contains seats for all deputies from the ruling United Russia Party, the Liberal Democratic Party and Russian Patriots’ Party. 

Human rights organizations blame Putin for violating human rights, ordering executions without due process, and ordering the mass killings of innocent civilians in , among others.
