Dzokhar-Khala/Agency Caucasus – Ingush President Yunusbek Yevkurov paid a friendly visit on Thursday to the office of the Kremlin-guided Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov in Dzokhar-Khala, the capital city of Chechnya.
Whereas it was thought that the two presidents would focus their talks on how to determine the borders, the official statements revealed that the talks were focused on how to improve mutual ties.
The talks were followed by the two presidents seeing around the newly-built buildings in Dzokhar-Khala. They afterwards prayed in the Mosque of Ahmed Kadyrov, built in the name of Ahmed Kadyrov who had been killed in 2004.
Asked to evaluate the general situation in his country, Yevkurov said that it was stable and did not pose any dangers in the foreseeable future. "Things are as bad as they are shown to be. The situation can well be improved. Our current mission is to put an end to limitless numbers of crimes. It is our most important mission. I believe that that is what the Ingush people do also want to see. We will soon achieve it, not through the use of force but through dialogue and civil solution of the social problems."
Prior to Yevkurov, a group of Ingush parliamentarians accompanied Speaker Mahmud Sakalov of the Ingush Parliament in his official trip to Dzokhar-Khala.
