Rebels’ families called on their sons to give up weapons

Nalchik/Agency Caucasus – A group of parents, consisting of 11 citizens who are living in Baksan district in the Republic of  Kabardino-Balkaria called on their sons (who are on the wanted list for being members of illegal armed organizations) to give up weapons.

Families, as the majority of Kabardino-Balkaria citizens, do not accept their sons’ religious understanding and the route of violence they embraced. The families in their message said “Your illegal actions, which have no common ground with real Islam, brought the republic to the level of sibling murders. Because of you, many innocent people suffered, children lost their parents and families who lost their relatives drowned in pain. You force us to suffer. If you do not pity on yourselves, then pity on us”.

“They deceived you, by convincing you that there is nothing valuable in this life. But life is a great gift from Allah and only HE knows the truth. You can not take Allah’s role and decide, who dies or who lives. You are wrong and we call on you to think again. Turn back to your children For the God’s sake. They are waiting for you. We are also waiting for you and we hope that you will start behaving sensibly”.

Rebels’ families met with Arsen Kanokov, President of Kabardino-Balkaria on 25 February and Kanokov ensured that rebels will be fairly judged if they surrender. KU/ÖZ/CY
