Abkhazian administration celebrates Gal’s foundation

Gal/Agency Caucasus – The Abkhazian administration organized a very gorgeous ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Gal’s foundation in a move towards winning further support from the Georgians who live in Gal, an area on the Abkhazian border to Georgia. 

The Friday ceremony had among its guests President Sergei Bagapsh, Prime Minister Aleksandr Ankvab, Vice Parliament Speaker Vyacheslav Tsugba, some ministers, some members of the parliament and the representatives from all provinces. Gal’s President Beslan Arshba delivered a speech on Gal’s historical as well as current situation. Bagapsh first greeted the people of Gal and wished them a peaceful, stable and bright future. The Gal authorities received gifts from guests, as well. The ceremonial speeches made here focused on such aspects of the city as follows: Gal is a strategically important area of Abkhazia; Gal serves as an outpost between Georgia and Abkhazia; Gal hosts the energy power plant IngurGES and the Gal people are happy and industrious. The last one of the ceremonial activities was a concert performance by as many as 20 teams of artists that came from provincial villages. The ceremony here attracted large groups of people from all villages around the region, Bagapsh’s special representative in Gal Ruslan Kismariya told Apsnipress. ÖZ/FT
